ESCAPE #62401 - JUNE 2024

This week’s escape takes us to the Comox Valley for an overnight adventure, but could easily be stretched into a longer visit as there is SOOOO much to do around this area.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

DAY 1

Begin your day with a relaxing drive to Courtenay.

Plan to arrive for later morning so you can gather up some lunch and head off for a hike..

DAY 1 | STOP #1

THE YELLOW DELI

Swing by the Yellow Deli and grab yourselves a couple sandwiches for a picnic lunch. We tried the “Chipotle Chicken” and it was great!

When you enter the Yellow Deli, you might find yourself reliving some ancient memories of an era long gone. Built in the early 1920s, this house has welcomed many home through its doors and has remained much the same over the years.

NYMPH FALLS NATURE PARK

DAY 1 | STOP #2

Take that picnic lunch and head on down to Nymph Falls Provincial Park. Lots of great picnic spots and enjoy a hike around the area.

Nymph Falls Nature Park protects 61 hectares (151 acres) of second-growth forest located on the north side of the Puntledge River. The river and falls rage over series of exposed bedrock ledges, from fall to spring, to the delight of white water enthusiasts. In summer, the glacial waters run calm, clear and cool, making the park and nearby Barber’s Hole popular spots for a refreshing dip on hot days.
